Japan to Bangladesh’s first underground railroad

Japan has consented to give advances to Bangladesh to construct its first underground railroad. A stretch of 26.6-kilometer rail line will be developed in Dhaka in two stages under the Mass Rapid Transit venture.

The plan of the underground rail is being readied, said Project Director Md Saidul Haque. He told “Japan has consented to fund the task which is a major one,” .

Haque trusted the delicate procedure of the undertaking will be done before the current year’s over subsequent to finishing the back contract with Japan.

Bangladesh is probably going to settle the 40th advance bundle with the Japan International Cooperation Agency in June, said Shahidul Islam, extra secretary of the Economic Relations Division.

In 2017, JICA gave 5.59 billion yen in advances under its 38th advance bundle to enlist a consultant for the venture.

The initial segment of the MRT-1 venture will be the airplane terminal course.
